Element 3: Establish and Sustain Effective Partnerships

Viewing the system as a partnership helps all involved to understand that quality monitoring and oversight is not intended to be punitive, but is, instead, a critical tool that drives the continuous improvement cycle through assessment, analysis, corrective action, peer sharing, and training.

To build and maintain these partnerships, establishing and sustaining effective relationships is essential. Relationship building should begin at the onset, but continued efforts to maintain the partnership must also be part of effective monitoring.
